Description

Build the ORP Sęp, a legend of the Polish Navy, in a collector's edition from COBI!

This compact yet incredibly detailed model, consisting of 190 bricks, is another gem in the COBI collector's series of submarines in 1:300 scale. The set was released in cooperation with the Naval Museum in Gdynia, which is an honor and a pleasure for our company, and the symbol of this institution will always be welcome on the boxes of our sets.

Build a legend that has gone down in the annals of World War II history and place it alongside models such as ORP Orzeł, U-96 and U-47, creating a collection that exudes naval power and the history of real battles.

History of the warship ORP Sęp

ORP Sęp was one of two modern submarines of the Orzeł class, built for the Polish Navy of the Second Polish Republic at the Dutch shipyard Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij. Launched in 1938, it was distinguished by its solid construction, large displacement and significant combat potential for the realities of the 1930s.

In the face of the growing threat of war, the unit was brought to Poland in April 1939, even before its formal acceptance. During the September campaign, ORP Sęp participated in the "Worek" defense plan, including an attempt to torpedo the German destroyer Friedrich Ihn. Soon, it became the target of intense enemy action, and the damage sustained forced it to break through to neutral Sweden, where it was interned until the end of the war.

After 1945, the ship returned to Poland and for many years served training and patrol functions. Its long and turbulent service finally ended in 1969, when ORP Sęp was finally decommissioned.

Now you can bring it back into service! All you have to do is build this model and "board" it in your collector's display case.

Key features of the ORP Sęp set:

• Collaboration with the museum – the set was released in cooperation with the Polish Navy Museum in Gdynia. This guarantees quality and accuracy to the historical counterpart. Every detail and every print has been reproduced with great attention to historical accuracy.

• Collector's item – ORP Sęp perfectly complements the COBI series of ships in 1:300 scale, alongside ORP Orzeł, U-96 and U-47, creating a coherent and impressive display.

• Display stand with collector's plaque – an elegant stand with the ship's name and model scale allows for attractive display on a shelf, desk or in a display case.

• Durable printed markings – all markings are applied as high-quality prints, guaranteeing durability and unchanging aesthetics of the model for years to come.

• Age: 7+ – the set is suitable for both younger builders and experienced collectors. A perfect balance between ease of construction and the satisfaction of the final result.

• Clear, intuitive instructions – assembling the model is pleasant and hassle-free, ideal for children, adults and history buffs.

• Excellent for display – once assembled, the model looks fantastic; it's a compact yet striking miniature of a legendary vessel.
