Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer, fast and effective!

The Jagdpanzer 38(t), commonly called the Hetzer, was a German tank destroyer based on the Czechoslovak LT vz. 38 (PzKpfw 38(t)) chassis. Developed in 1943 at the BMM factories in Prague at the request of General Heinz Guderian, it entered mass production in April 1944.

The Hetzer was distinguished by its low profile, heavily sloped armor plates, and high production efficiency. It was considered a fast, inexpensive and extremely effective vehicle in defensive operations. Its gun was mounted asymmetrically, requiring exceptional coordination between the gunner and loader. The Jagdpanzer 38(t) first entered service in July 1944.
