The 8.8 cm Flak 18 gun was a German anti-aircraft gun from World War II, also widely used as an anti-tank gun. The legendary "Eighty-eights"

The 8.8 cm Flak 18, popularly called the "Eighty-eight," was a German anti-aircraft gun that, thanks to its enormous muzzle velocity and high rate of fire, also became an extremely effective anti-tank weapon.

Despite the restrictions imposed on Germany after World War I, the Krupp factories, together with the Swedish Bofors, developed a modern 88 mm caliber gun, which quickly became a symbol of German artillery power. The 8.8 cm Flak 18 gun was mounted on a cross-shaped carriage, which allowed for circular firing in all directions. Due to its heavy weight, it could only be towed by large vehicles. Initially, these were three-axle trucks, and over time, Sd.Kfz. half-track artillery tractors 7 and Sd.Kfz. 8.
