During World War II, the PzKpfw VI Tiger Ausf. E tank became one of the most recognizable elements of the battlefield at that time. Its powerful gun, massive armor and overall "indestructibility" meant that the enemy had a lot to worry about at the sight of it.

Now you have the opportunity to build this legendary tank yourself, the original of which is located in the Musée des Blindés in Saumur, France. COBI's official cooperation with the world's largest tank museum and numerous consultations have made the model as close to the original as possible!

Build the tank that almost changed the course of history!

The Tiger is an icon of the German armored forces. With its powerful 88mm gun and incredible durability it could destroy enemies from a distance before they had a chance to react.

If you look at this 1:12 scale set you will immediately feel that this is not a "toy" for everyone. The model consists of 8,000 pieces, is 70cm long and weighs almost 6 kg, making it a challenge even for experienced builders.

And now for the best part: this gigantic "Tiger" has a movable cannon, an opening service hatch, a turret that can be rotated 360 degrees and it really does ride on moving tracks that you build yourself from individual links. You simply have to feel it to believe the level of detail!

If you have already built tanks from COBI, then you know that this is not the first time that the Tiger has appeared in our offer. However, the Tiger Ausf. E version is definitely more extensive!

And now it's time for details - because they are really is something to look at! Building this model is quite a challenge, but the effects are worth it:

Movable tank turret - The removable, powerful turret rotates like a real one! And the moving barrel adds even more realism. A real blast!

Armor details - See those different shades of color and layers of blocks? It's no coincidence! This is how the historical, three-color camouflage that protected the tank from premature detection was reproduced.

The interior of the tank - Yes, the interior is just as amazing as the view from the outside! It contains replicated driver, gunner and commander positions – you can really see that COBI has put a lot of effort into the details.

Movable elements – Machine guns, ropes, opening hatches, movable caterpillar traction… all of this is inspired by authentic equipment from World War II, which makes the model look extremely realistic.

Removable engine – The engine, which consists of several hundred elements, is so detailed that it can almost be considered a separate model! Of course, it can be removed and displayed next to the tank.

Exhibition for collectors – A nice and complementary addition to the whole is a black plate with the name of the model printed on it, the logo of the museum where our Tiger stands, and the technical data of the real tank.

Double markings - An interesting fact is that the model contains both French and German markings. This tank initially took part in battles on the Eastern Front. Later, during the operations on the Western Front, it was taken over by the French Resistance and incorporated into the French Armed Forces.

Do you have a huge pile of blocks, a lot of imagination and really a lot of patience? Do you want to show an attack on the Eastern Front? Or maybe a destroyed village after the battle? The tank will fit perfectly into each of these scenes. Here are some ideas for dioramas:

  1. Battle on the Eastern Front – Snowdrifts, destroyed buildings, trenches… anything that will help to convey the harsh conditions of war.
  2. Landscape after the battle – Destroyed infrastructure and a damaged Tiger in ruins – this will be a picture full of drama.
  3. Breaking the defense line – A diorama showing the moment when the Tiger broke through the defense line – broken barbed wire and rubble everywhere.

You can develop each of these ideas by adding the right details. With the right elements, your diorama will come alive, realistic and monumental!
